WE'RE GETTING CLOSER!

I was painting pottery with my friend Flore today and she mentioned that I needed to add an update on my blog. I told her that there really was not much to add at the moment. HA! When I got home there was a Well Baby Check on Amanda in my mailbox! I love these little updates because it makes me feel closer to her in some way. This was her 4 month check up, and it seems like all is going well. She is a petite little girl, weighing in at 12 3/4 pounds and measuring at 23 1/2 inches long. She is a little string bean that's for sure. The report also added that her appearance is 'cute & fine', she is able to lift her head up high, and can lift her chest up with arm support. Our little girl is growing leaps and bounds and my heart aches that we are not seeing these little milestones. Keep praying that she'll be home soon. We're still waiting on one last form (I-600 Form) to be approved, and then our agency said it would only be a matter of 2-3 weeks TOPS for Amanda to be home. So we're getting closer to that day!

We are having Amanda escorted home, meaning we'll be meeting her for the first time at the airport. When we sent in all of our acceptance papers we were asked to chose two international airports where we would like her to fly into. Our first choice is DFW and our second choice is LAX. So if she does happen to fly into LAX, we would love for all of our So. Cal family and friends to meet us there for this joyous occasion. The same goes for those of you in the DFW area!!! You're all welcome to join us in Amanda's homecoming. Soowan and I really don't have a preference in which airport she comes home at, we just want her home!

The past couple of weeks we've been rather busy! On the 19th we celebrated Soowan turning another year older! He still looks like he's 24, not his true 34 year self. It's such a crime that he looks so young still!

Three wonderful friends of mine Ronnie, Heather and Paula threw me the most beautiful baby shower the other weekend. At the shower I experienced a complete renewal of HOPE from everyone's excitement for our family. I was so overwhelmed by everyone's sweetness and generosity, it took me almost a week to write out all of my thank you notes. I felt like saying 'thank you' was not even close to what me heart really wanted to express to all of my sweet, sweet friends. A lot of tears of joy were cried while writing those notes. I know I'm a sap, I admit it!

We are almost done with Amanda's room!!! All we have left is to put up all of the personal, decorative touches and we're FINISHED! Last night I was on the phone with Darline (my best friend in CA) begging her to come out and help me. She is my personal decorator, and I dare not put a nail into any of my walls without her say so! So Darline if you're reading this, "Buy a plane ticket and get your tiny hiny over here!"

OK, every post needs some sort of media effect, so here are two slide shows! One of my baby shower and another slide show of Amanda's furniture. We did her room in Americana because neither one of us like pink. All our friends tell us that we need get use to it! Our thought is until she can have a say so in how she would like her room to be decorated, we'll keep with the red white and blue theme. I think it came out cute!!! It's not your typical "pink" girl's room!
