Our wonderful friends The Justus Family, have been cruising across our great nation in there HUGE motor home for the past 5 weeks. On their journey back to California, they decided they would stop by our home for a visit. Lori had expressed interest in dropping by earlier last week, but wasn't sure on when. So on Saturday I get a call from Lori saying they would be dropping by either Sunday night or early Monday afternoon. They decided to take the long drive from Memphis, TN to Dallas and arrived at our door a little before 7:00 PM yesterday.
We had a wonderful time hearing all about their trip and catching up. It has been 2 years since we have seen our friends and it still amazes me that they took time to drop by to say "HELLO". The girls, Kaitlyn and Jessica are growing up to be beautiful young ladies (both inside and out). Kaitlyn is sophisticated and poised just like her Mom, and Jessica being the tender hearted one that she is, quickly became Amanda's new best friend. Jessica is so good with babies and young children and is training at her church to serve in the preschool/nursery. Their son Zachary is growing leaps and bounds and has changed so much since the last time we saw him. Micah and Zachary are two peas in a pod and had a blast jumping on the trampoline, swimming in the pool, and playing Pokemon until Midnight.
Soowan BBQ'd up some steak and chicken for all of us, and I prepared a yummy dessert to enjoy afterwards. We fed the Justus family as if they were royalty, and Bob practically licked his plate when he was finished. Not really, but close. Poor things have been living on quick, convenient food for the past 5 weeks, so the least we could do was feed them a decent, home cooked meal. Their motor home does sport a nice kitchen by the way, where Lori has made many healthy meals for the family when she can.
Their visit was short lived and they were off and back on the highway by ten this morning. BOO-HOO! Even though us girls were doing our best to convince Bob to stay a little bit longer for some much needed back-to-school shopping at our nearby Galleria, but he didn't give into our plea. Bob, not being a huge shopping enthusiast decided the family must get back on the road so they could see a few more attractions before they head back home.
The 15 or so hours we were able to spend with the Justus' was heartwarming and filled with much joy! We miss our dear friends back in CA and it's wonderful when they are able to stop by while they are in town. What made this visit even sweeter is that they MADE THE TIME to stop by, when there were many other places they could of seen or stopped at between Memphis, TN and the Grand Canyon.
WE LOVE YOU BOB, LORI, KAITLYN, JESSICA AND ZACHARY JUSTUS!!! You are true gifts from God to our family!!! THANK YOU for stopping by for food, fun and fellowship!!!
Here are some pictures we took this morning before the Justus' headed out (this is why Amanda is still in her PJ's). We were too busy last night talking, eating and playing we forgot to get our cameras out to record their 15 hour visit, so these few pictures will have to do. ;0)
