A lot has happened since the last time I wrote on this thing. Never quite found that quiet place... but at least there is never a dull moment in my house hold. (That's the cup is half-full attitude I wish I always had). ;)
Here are some of the 'fun' things that have been going on in our life in the past month or so.
- Amanda fell and hit her mouth on the side of a table and split her lip open, all the way through. Three stitches on the inside and two on the outside of her bottom lip. Not to mention the 2 hour ER visit, along with her being papoosed and her yelling "HELP ME Da-da!"
- Escrow being delayed a week because the underwriter for our loan insisted that we needed to get 'hurricane insurance' for our new house in Austin, TX. Obviously this lady slept through geography class. Enough said!
- 4 days prior to moving, Amanda contracted Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. Not fun at all!
- The day we moved out of our old house, we had to call a plumber because a pipe in our wall was leaking, getting the carpet all wet in the dining room. Emergency plumbing bills are NOT CHEAP!
- Soowan got sick.
- We finally got the keys to the house and we were all excited to enter the new house! I don't know about you, but when we move out of a house we CLEAN IT FOR THE NEW OWNERS!!! The sellers obviously do not share the same sentiment. We walked in and discover that the sellers moved out all their belongings, but decided to leave every piece of fur their animals had shed in the past four years! There was pet hair piled up as high as the baseboards, where their headboard, dresser and every other piece of heavy furniture once stood. It was disgusting!
- I vacuumed up all the pet hair, before the carpet installers arrived the next day. I emptied my vacuum container 6 times and still didn't get to every room! The installers were nice enough to vacuum the areas I didn't get to before they tore up the carpet.
- Amanda's eczema flared up and she broke out from head to toe. It was so sad to see her be so itchy and in so much pain. :( Her skin is MUCH better now, thank goodness!
- I got sick with a cold.
- Micah got sick with a cold and stayed home from school a couple of day last week.
- We're slowly getting unpacked, but our new house still doesn't feel or look anything like home yet.
- One day I know I'll look back at all this and laugh, but I really don't feel much like it right now.
OK... The whining and complaining is over! On a happier note... This morning I went to the garden center and bought some rose bushes and flowers. Gardening is my own personal therapy! It was wonderful to get my hands dirty and work in the soil. I feel energized and ready to unpack some more boxes! Not really, but if I ever want to get out of 'cardboard hell' I better get to unpacking.
I'll post some pictures of the new house once it's in order.
