For Valentine's Day my sweet husband purchased me a gift card for a day a the spa. He actually scheduled an appointment for me, but I had to cancel it because he was unaware that I had something already planned for that day. When I called to reschedule I decided to book a couples massage and surprise Soowan with a day at the spa as well.
Our spa day was scheduled for today. I arranged a babysitter for the afternoon, and Soowan and I started our time alone with a late lunch. When we arrived at the day spa the receptionist told me that the computer did not show that we had an appointment for today. I reassured her that we did, and she said that the only thing the computer was showing in my name was the cancellation I had made on the 16th of the last month. I explained to her that I made a new appointment for today when I called to cancel. So long story short, we did not get our couples massage today.
In the end he manager was nice enough to give a $50.00 credit to use the next time we came in for any service of our choice for our inconvenience. Bummer, huh?
To make my day even worse, my face broke out in hives because of a new moisturizer I purchased last week. This is kind of funny, but not really. I've been using the same moisturizer for years, because I have very sensitive skin, and this was the only type that my skin did not react to. So when I went to Dillard's last week to purchase my moisturizer, I was naive enough to allow the consultant convince me that I needed to move up to anti-aging moisturizer instead of my normal preventive moisturizer. Apparently I no longer have fine lines, but full blown wrinkles now. That's not exactly how she presented it to me, but she might as well have. Sigh.
Tomorrow I will have to go back and exchange this new product for my old moisturizer. I would much rather have wrinkles on my face than hives. LOL. OK.... I'll get off my soapbox about my aging skin, and enjoy my time alone with Amanda tonight. Micah had a birthday party to attend this evening and Soowan went along to help out. We are still not at the comfort level to 'drop him off and leave' for parties yet, although many parents of kids his age are. I will just keep my mouth zipped for this matter because I have way too strong of an opinion on this subject. ;0)

So sad to hear about your "bummer day." I do love that you can always find something to smile about even when things don't go as planned.
We didn't make it to church yesterday...so I'm sad that I missed seeing you.
Have a great week.
