Saturday morning Soowan went outside to get the paper and noticed the air outside was cooler than inside our house. So we opened most of the windows for a couple of hours and surprisingly it cooled the house down from 84 to 81 degrees. By 9:00 AM I was able to get a hold of a repair man and said he could be at our house by 1:00 PM. I was hoping he could of come sooner, but figured 1 o'clock is better than coming at 4:00 PM when the heat of the day is at its highest. We stayed home and sweated it out... literally! We could of gone swimming, but it made me a bit uncomfortable having myself and the kids in swimsuits while expecting a repairman (you never know he could of come early---Yeah, Right!).
Coming early wasn't the case in hand at all! He got to our house around 2:00 PM. At this point the house was back up to 84 which wasn't intolerable, but the house was starting to feel a bit humid. The good news is that the repair didn't cost us an arm and a leg. The motor to the fan broke and needed to be replaced. Luckily the repairman had an extra motor to our specific unit with him, so we didn't need to wait for him to pick-up/order a new one. THANK YOU LORD! The repairman was done by 3:00 PM and it took until 8:00 PM to cool the house down to the normal 78 degrees we keep our thermostat at. Our thoughts were to take the kids swimming after the A/C was fixed and Amanda was up from her nap, but much to our luck thunderstorms were on their way and blew through the majority of the evening.... BUMMER.
While waiting for the house to cool down Soowan and Micah worked on a puzzle, while I watched a movie as Amanda napped. Yes, she still napped while our house felt swampy. Crazy... I know!!! Here are a few pics that I took during the day. Notice how Amanda's hair is all sticky, sweaty looking after she woke up from her nap. YUCK!
Amanda beat the heat by walking around in her diaper with a pair of my heels on...
... by chasing Samson around the house (oh wait... she does that everyday)...
... and by sitting on her toy tractor while reading a book. Isn't she adorable?
